Islamic perspective of Dreams

From centuries dreams have played important role in human life.  Allah SWT (God) has blessed humans with many things and among them are good dreams. In Islam dreams are of great importance and are discussed in detail.
Allah SWT has given us the opportunity to communicate with Him and seek direct guidance. Such dreams are the actual way through which a believer gets his answer and can have spiritual satisfaction. This process of interacting with Allah SWT through dreams is known as 'ISTIKHARA'

In Istikhara Allah SWT guides the believer with different signs. It is narrated that Holy Prophet Mohammad SAW advised his followers to do Istikhara and also appreciates those who do it. He (SAW) said doing Istikhara is a trait of true worshiper and it strengthens his/her beleif and relation with Allah SWT.

The Holy Prophet (SAW) has also told us the method to perform Istikhara, an important thing is the color which one sees during Istikhara dream. Red & Black colors are signs of bad dreams or something that would not be beneficial for the person performing it while Green & White colors are good signs.

The Prophet Mohammad SAW said that good dreams are from Allah while bad dreams are from satan. If someone sees a bad dream he/she should spit thrice on his/her left to avoid any harm (of that bad dream)
It is also advised not to share bad dreams or use bad words to explain someone's dreams.

Who Are We to Judge?

I have been thinking on Hijabi  and non-Hijabi women of my society from very long and was always confused about what should I do? Whether judging someone with this scale( Hijab) is good or logical for a illiterate like me?
Well finally today I found something about this issue and surely it has changed my point of view....
I saw facebook feed from Mufti Ismail Menk who wrote

“When you see a female dressed in a manner that is unacceptable Islamically, do not for a moment think that she is lower than you spiritually. If you do that, you are lower than her. Believe me, that is the teaching of your religion. She might have a link with her creator that you do not know about. She might have a heart that is tons better than yours. She might have one weakness that is outward, and you have 50 weaknesses that are hidden.” — Mufti Menk”

I want to share something, that title MUFTI is for scholars, who tries to give solution of modern-day issues and problems of society in light of the Islamic Laws ( Sheri y-ah) through their wisdom and scholarly knowledge.

The posts gives the solution, to one, of our main problem in present days. And the lesson we get, is that never judge a person as Allah knows better.....

ANOTHER UNLUCKY DAY...

Now a days I have unlucky mornings as I get up late and haven't enjoyed the sunrise since long. Whenever I saw a sunrise it energizes & reminds me that problems and success are not permanent in one's life. There is always a hope and we should remember that all night (in dark, despair).

I also feel unlucky as sometimes I miss my morning prayers ( which means I am not a staunch Muslim yet) through which one can also enjoy the beautiful sunrise by getting up.

If you are atheist then remember that life is short and every sunrise counts & nature has its own laws which it will never change for lazy humans like us, so try to get up early to see how nature teaches us lessons in form of beauty and sometimes warns us through disasters.

ANOTHER UNLUCKY DAY WITHOUT ENJOYING THE SUNRISE.... :(

Tomorrow you have exam......

"tomorrow you have exam son'' these were the words which I heard from my parents, after receiving an emergency call from a very dear friend who needed blood for someone's( a mutual friend) sister who just had a delivery and required blood donation.

I was ready to donate blood during exams and my exams were not bothering me at all. So I went to the hospital with that family and donated blood. After reaching home I have to eat a lot of fruits and juices to avoid blood deficiency. I slept for 2-3 hours on friend's advice and in midnight I prepared my exam and it went very well Alhamdullilah.....

Smart National Identity Card (SNIC)- PAKISTAN

The Smart National Identity Card (SNIC) comes with 36 physical security features, making tampering extremely difficult and easily detectable.
NADRA is also in the process of deploying pre-processing machines where citizens will conveniently process their Smart card followed by their fingerprint impressions to prove their identity.
Hence, we are looking at a future where identity fraud in Pakistan will be completely eliminated. This is a HUGE milestone..just some of the possibilities that will be unleashed are as follows: complete elimination of rigging practices in elections, honest and transparent disbursement of governmental grants and aids to their deserving, and much more.

EID MILAD-UN-NABI CELEBRATIONS IN MY CITY

In my city tonight, I observed how people celebrated the birthday of Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW.
Citizens spent their day in Jalsa ( religious rallies), in Mosques and on roads chilling and relaxing. Sorry to use the words chilling & relaxing as I have witnessed it tonight.

People throwing money and food packets on the visitors for the sake of Allah's & Prophet PBUH blessings.I don't think so whether Prophet SAW or Allah Almighty ever said that. Distributing money or food packets is good but if it is done in an ethical or decent way.

Then I saw people dancing on different Qawali's & Naat's. They were happy or emotional I don't know? But they were shouting as they were in some concert ......... but why? Don't know the answer....

I saw women, children & men on streets and roads laughing and enjoying rather spending their time  in remembering Allah & sending Durood on Holy Prophet SAW.

There were families, young people, kids and elders everybody was there with a smile on their faces which was a good sign but that smile was for Prophet SAW birth or the events they were enjoying??

Short Research on Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri's Agenda

My recent university assignment was to select any issue and do qualitative research (content analysis) on it. So I selected Dr. TuQ's issue and coverage given to him by DAWN newspaper dated from 20-12-2012 to 3-01-2013 .

The objectives of research were

1.     To understand the agenda of Dr. TuQ
2.     To understand the views of political parties on his demands and speech?

The research only covers the news on front page of DAWN....( 15-day research)

At the end I got following results....

RESULTS

  1. Out of 15-day research, the number of news related to the case study was six
  2. 4 of the news belong to political parties and their support for Dr. TuQ agenda and tells about his demands.
  3. The political parties that are supporting Dr. TuQ include PML-Q and MQM while those, opposing his agenda of electoral reforms and demand of honest caretaker government are PML-N and PPP
  4. The results shows that the agenda of Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri included these points....

  • Electoral reforms & demand of honest,
  •  independent caretaker government, people’s parliament and
  • military’s help in setting-up that caretaker government in Pakistan before elections.
